Question about getting an account to report on your credit report.

Hello Bruce!

Hope all is well.  I have an issue I was wondering if you could help me out with. I have a very positive Wells Fargo account with a large balance and at low credit utilization that is not reporting to the credit bureaus. I received a letter from Wells Fargo today stating that they are in fact reporting to all 4 credit bureaus, the 4th being Innovis.  Because of my previous identity-theft the credit bureaus are not reporting this positive account.  Please review the attached letter from Wells Fargo and let me know if there's anything we can do to get this positive account reporting on my bureaus. This account has a $11,500 limit with a little over $2500 outstanding balance so it will significantly help my credit score if we can get it reporting!  Thank you very much in advance for your help!

Answer

Brad....unless the creditor (Wells Fargo) reports your information on the missing bureau, they will not pick it up without someone paying to report it. The three bureaus do not reciprocate information. They are all for-profit corporations and are in competition with one another. The one thing you can do is add a consumer statement to your file.......100 words. Name the account, Acct #, High Credit Limit, Balance - contact info to verify. MOST underwriters will consider this if it is verifiable.

Take Care,

Bruce
